Two mornings ago while we were eating breakfast in the kitchen I looked out and saw this bird next to the pond in the backyard, possibly hoping to catch a fish. My mom identified it as a great blue heron. I had said to the boys, "Look, a kingfisher or something!" :)
Amazing creatures. We see a lone one often at the beach wading in the shallow water. They're so still.
